The only thing that matters in my life is finding Maria. I’m always on the road, looking for clues as to where my mate is. When I’m not sleeping in my truck, I’m sleeping in a motel room, and its rarely the same one twice. If it takes me the rest of my life, I will find her. It didn’t take me long to figure out that the only reason she left was to protect me. But until she is in my arms again, my life isn’t worth living.
I’m sitting in my tent pouring over the demon texts that Samuel gave me. So far, I’ve managed to find information on how to summon a demon and black spells that will surely give me nightmares. I’m afraid, however, that I may be forced to use spells like that to get away from Algaliarept. The worst part is, as much as these spells frighten me, they also tempt me. And that scares me all the more. But, no matter what, I must break free of Algaliarept, and if I have to take smut on my soul in the process, I won’t regret it.
I’ve come to realize that I can’t live my life like this. I mean, sure, I’m safe from Algaliarept, but its lonely as hell. I want to be able to spend time with my family. Its what’s kept me alive. Its also giving me reason to fight. And so, I decided to pay a visit to Samuel, the black witch who betrayed me. I didn’t go with the intention of getting revenge from him. All I wanted was to steal his books on demons, but when I saw him from a distance, I was filled with anger. The man had ruined my life, and here he got to live his own. I may not be able to get those two years of my life back, but at least I can stop him from hurting anybody else.
The look he had on his face when he saw me was one of sheer terror. He had every reason to be afraid of me. His hands starting dripping with black. “S-s-stay away from me! I had no choice! I owed Algaliarept! I had to…” His voice cut off with a gurgle. In the time it took him to blink, I vamp sped up to him and grabbed his throat, squeezing just enough to cut off his air supply. “You HAD to ruin my life?! Do you have any idea what kind of hell that son of a bitch has put me through?!” I picked him up and slammed him into the wall hard enough to crack it, and then I sank my fangs into his neck. I drank my fill then let go of him, and he sank to the floor in a heap, getting into the fetal position and shaking with violent sobs. He somehow manages to rasp out, “P-please leave me alone. I’ll g-g-give you anything you want! Anything!” I glare at him, my voice dripping with venom. “I want every text you have on demons. ALL of them! Or I will finish what I started.” Too weak to stand up, he crawls towards a bookcase, telling me to pull out several books and reach inside. I do so, surprised to find a hidden door.
On the other side, I find several thick books with no name. I picked him up by the front of his shirt. “L-let me go! I gave you what you wanted!” I lock eyes with him, my fury evident in my eyes. “Not EVERYTHING I wanted.” I speak the words to a foul spell that Algaliarept has used on me, and the man screams in pain, convulsing as I let him go. “I’m not going to kill you. I just wanted you to get a taste of what Algaliarept did to me.” I turn and start gathering up books when I’m suddenly racked with pain. I turn to him, thinking that he somehow did this, but he was writhing in pain on the floor. The pain got worse when I realized that I had twisted a demon curse. As soon as I said the words, “I accept”, the pain went away and I finished gathering up the books, stepping over Samuel on my way out.
I’m sitting in another Starbucks watching Adventure Time on my laptop. Unbeknownst to me, people keep shooting me funny looks because I keep bursting out laughing. When I watch this show, it almost makes me feel like a kid again, and I can’t help but remember all the trouble I used to get into with Sammy, Luna, and Rissa.
My Adventure Time marathon was disrupted when a rather rude man slammed my laptop shut and glared at me. The look he gave me made me think of Algaliarept and I started having a panic attack, afraid that it was actually hiim and that he was going to drag me away to the Ever After. Without even thinking about it, I cast a ley line sleepytime charm, knocking him flat on his ass. I grabbed my laptop and ran out of there without looking back.
I wake up in my tent and start tidying up. The fact that I’m still here means either Algaliarept wasn’t able to find me, or my circle was strong enough to hold him at bay, but the results are the same. I get to stay on this side of the ley lines for one more day. I think I’ll head to a Starbucks for coffee and celebrate with more Adventure Time. Aside from family, it’s the only thing that’s comforted me.
Several versions of Jack’s backstory have been done over the years. Its time I went back to the original and expanded on it.
Jack Ronan Murphy was born to Robert Murphy and his then wife Aeon on May 5, 2010 a minute after his twin brother Sammy. By all accounts, this should have been impossible, since Rob is a vampire and Aeon is a demon. However, Aeon drank a potion that allowed her to get pregnant with Rob’s child, or in this case children. Anyway, much to their surprise, Jack and Sammy grew up faster than they expected. Before the month was over, they were teenagers. Jack was very happy to become a big brother when Luna was born. However, it wasn’t long after that that Aeon abandoned the family.
When Rob married Taylor, Jack foolishly trusted that his dad had made a better decision than when he had married his mother. As it turns out, the only good thing to come out of that marriage was his sister Rissa. Her conception was a gift from the gods, and he, Sammy, and Rissa became close. It was very hard on the entire family when Taylor took Rissa away.
Jack had a couple failed relationships until he fell in love with a fire fae named Del. By the end of the year, they were expecting twins. They welcomed their daughters Corrigan and Evelyn into the world in early 2011. However, since Jack was taken by Algaliarept, the whereabouts of Del and the twins is unknown.

Earlier today, I thought I had found the perfect hiding place. It was an abandoned church. I know that demons cannot enter hallowed ground, so I thought it would keep me safe. However, the demon blood in my veins didn’t let me step foot inside. I started to panic. What if I could find no hiding place? Algaliarept would have no difficulty in dragging me back to the Ever After, and the punishment would make what I’ve gone through before seem like a holiday.
After my panic attack eventually subsided, I realized that there was more than one way to stay safe. And so, I took a tent out into the woods, set it up, and then invoked a circle to keep everyone and everything else out. Once I was certain that it had been properly drawn, I pulled out my laptop and Adventure Time DVDs and started a marathon, blood snacks and tequila at the ready.
